60 Second Photoshop Tutorial : Blur Faces and License Plates -HD-

You may find times when editing photos in
Photoshop that you wish to blur out someone’s face or even a license plate. The
technique is the same for both. Let’s say that this guy over here in front does not want to be recognized in this photo. First we are going to take and zoom in. Then I’m
going to grab the elliptical marquee tool from the toolbar and make a
selection over his face. Now make sure that your selection is a
little bit larger than the face in order to get the best result. Then I’m going to go up to select, down
to modify, and select feather. Now I’m going to be using a feathering of
twenty pixels and then I’m going to click ok. This will make our final result have a
softer edge and better look. Now I’m going up to filter, then down to
blur, and select gaussian blur. Now you want to adjust the slider until
the face is no longer recognizable and then click ok. Now if you are looking for one of the other
popular facial blurs that uses larger boxes you can take and go up to filter, then down to pixelate, and select mosaic. Now again adjust the slider until the
face is not recognizable and click ok. So, this has been a 60 second tutorial

You know… I'd rather create a new layer via copy and then blur it, so the original photo stays intact πŸ˜‰

By the way…. If anyone needs to Free Transform the Selection without distorting the image I am linking to a tutorial on that below… This helps when the area to be blurred isn't a perfect circle or rectangle and needs adjustment.
