Hi Jordy. Watching great channels like yours, have inspired me to bring my cooking show to the next level. The result – this short film:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_zAYXV2bXI
My question is how to add multiple language subtitles to it. Should I use one video or make as many copies as the number of languages I want to translate it to.
I don't wont to use Youtube subtitles, because you can't choose the font and style there, as I understand.
Do you have suggestions for this or maybe even a video tutorial?
    Thanks.

Thanks for this. Focus – particularly while you or your subject are moving – is one of my biggest worries (being new to DSLR video). I'll definately be trying these tips out. Can I ask, what is your opinion of the various 'follow focus' accessories that are available – are they worth the money?

Handheld filming with DSLR often results in jittery or wobbly footage, especially when walking around. Do you have any tips for stabilizing your DSLR footage without having to buy or build stuff like shoulder rigs or steadicams?

    have questions as a beginner….using a Canon t6i:

    1. if my lens is set to autofocus, will it damage anything to manually turn the ring and manually focus?

    2. I've heard people say that you should turn the camera off before making changes like: switcing the autofocus/ manual button, or stabilizer button.

  30. Soumya Sharma March 1, 2017 at 3:44 pm

    hello jordy and cinecom …
this is soumya. I've been following your channel and that has educated me about the technical skills very well. thanks for that. the reason I'm dropping this comment is, I wanted to know if canon 700d with magic lantern software and Carl Zeiss lens kits can give the screening quality. I've been passionate towards cinematography and have tried shooting couple of short films and that has got a decent output. but this time it's time for us to screen so I wanted to make sure about the video quality. pls suggest.
    thank u

what d apeture you are using?

  42. The Post Color Blog June 25, 2017 at 2:03 pm

Great tips! The only thing that I would say it that not all lenses turn the same way, so when walking, as you said, you just have to know your lens and which way to turn to adjust the focus. Also, your tip about the tape is great, but again, it depends on people knowing their lenses. Focus by wire lenses, like with Sony, will not benefit from this. Anyway, great videos!

Ive learned so much more about my camera after I got interested in videography. This was yesterday. Shit is making sense now and it feels good to feel like I have a little more control over my camera instead of just winging it and adjusting later.
